May I say that i found your attitude and that of your MD most refreshing.

As I said in my letter to you i am not a person who routinely makes a complaint simply to endeavor to obtain some sort of discount or refund, so to have you consider my observations and react in the way that you have speaks volumes for the way in which Mercury regards it customers.

I received your cheque by the same post and would like to thank you for your prompt and assiduous attention to both matters that has brought everything to a very satisfactory conclusion.

My wife and I were so impressed, that after having booked a holiday at the Canifor Hotel in Malta for ten weeks for three people and two weeks for another daughter for later in the month, we thought it would be rewarding to book another holiday to celebrate our Diamond Wedding Anniversary on March 5th 2009 so we booked for four weeks at the Hotel Baia Grande and took advantage of the £20 per person discount for booking a second holiday.

There were five of us in our group and after our first visit to Malta last year, we enjoyed it so much, we just had to return. Although our hotel (Bayview) was clean and friendly, we wanted a hotel with more facilities. We chose the Preluna, and were so glad that we did. It is a superb hotel. Right from making enquiries with your office, to booking, to the reps in resort to back home, every thing was excellent.

Lovely and clean soft towels, always hot water, friendly staff, and very good food and great selection. The restaurant manager Ray, so Kind and helpful, Sam the chef did a good spread. I will certainly be returning. Good value. And Air Malta very good. A happy customer. Also Sue your Rep most friendly and helpful.

My wife and I stayed at the Crown Hotel commencing the 17th January leaving on the 24th January staying in room 1116. We have been to Malta on several occasions staying at various hotels mainly the large ones, but this time was a little apprehensive on a couple of points firstly booking with a company we had never used before also had no idea anything about your hotel its location only a few pictures on the internet. Can I say what a pleasant surprise we got on arrival; our greeting was first class, found the room very clean and tidy. The restaurant was first class good food plenty of selection, and very well presented. All the staff in every department could not do enough for us as guest; they all deserve a big pat on their backs for a job well done. I hope to return to Malta in the future and without doubt will use The Crown again.

Qawra Palace Hotel, Qawra

Dear Mercury Direct,

We have just returned home after spending twenty eight days at the Qawra Palace Hotel, Malta. Before we went we wrote to you regarding our fears caused by some of the comments posted on the internet about the Hotel. Some very scathing indeed. Our experience was that, even though the Hotel is old, it was kept exceptionally clean, the staff in the dining areas, the reception and in the house keeping department were all efficient and friendly and helpful. The food was good, varied and plentiful, and the day time activates arranged by the Hotel and the entertainment put on at night was excellent and catered for all tastes and we certainly had no complaints at all.

The reason for this letter is that if the comments on the internet had any substance, we would have certainly complained to you. So we felt in fairness we had to write and say how much we enjoyed our holiday at the Qawra Palace. Incidentally we have stayed two previous Januarys, with Mercury at the Agapinor, Cyprus and the Atlantico aparthotel near Albufeira both of which we have been more than happy with, but on balance taking everything in to account, we think the Qawra Palace hotel comes out on top. Also, thank you for your speedy and reassuring reply to our original letter.

In February of this year a friend and I booked a weeks holiday on the island of Gozo, with Mercury Direct, having seen your advertisements in the travel section of the Telegraph. I felt that I must now write to tell you what a wonderful holiday it turned out to be! We stayed at the Calypso Hotel in Marsalforn - a really excellent hotel - comfortable, clean with spacious and well furnished rooms. The food was delicious and the staff friendly and helpful. The travel arrangements were faultless - we were met and transported with great efficiency on each stage of our outward and homeward journeys. It couldn't of been easier!

We loved the island of Gozo, and the sun shone all the time we were there! I would happily recomment your company to anyone who is thinking of visiting Gozo. Finally, I would like to say a big thank you to you and your staff at Mercury Direct for making our first visit to Gozo such a happy and memorable experience.

My husband and I and two friends have just returned from one of your holidays in Malta we stayed at the Hotel Fortina in Sliema, and was an excellent trip all round.

Sorry this has taken me so long to send back to you but I just had to say a Big Thank You to you all for our wonderful holiday in Malta. We stayed at the Fortina Hotel, not the 5 star next door, But to be honest the hotel was great and the food at the hotel was superb. The hotel restaurant always had such a fabulous array of food on offer.

Also many grateful thanks to our courier, his name for the moment escapes me but he was very informative and his advise on catching the buses etc was great. All in all we had a great holiday with brilliant flights with Air Malta out and home.

My purpose in writing to you is to thank you most warmly for the excellent arrangements you made to transport my wife and me to the hotel.My wife and I were delighted with our stay at the Fortina. We were in room 507 which gave us a view across Tigne waterfront towards Valletta. It has to be one of the best views in the world. The restuarants to which we had access with our ' Dine around ' oprtion were excellent and the buffet in La Valletta downstairs never ceases to amaze.

With reference to the above booking. We have returned from Malta on the 08th Feb, After 1 month at The Metropole Hotel Sliema. Our stay at this hotel can only be described as excellent. Your local rep Peter did an excellent job in liason with the hotel, our transfers were on time and the vehicles and drivers excellent. Restaurants food was more than acceptable. We paid for a 3 star hotel, it was more than our expectations., a number of guests have stayed before and we would certainly use it again.

A great holiday and good value for money.

We have just returned from the fortina hotel sliema malta. We were given an excellant room overlooking the gardens(although we payed £100 extra for a sea veiw,reception said that there were non available). Nevertheless we did not want to spoil our holiday argueing over this.The hotel was magnificent with every amenity possible/close to shops and services. The room was attended every day and the food left nothing to be desired. Thank you for arranging this for us and to the rep in the resort who was there every day and when not a contact number was available. We shall certainly be using your company again.

My Husband and I have recently returned from a ten day holiday on the isle of Gozo staying in the Calypso. We booked via Mercury Direct and wish you to know how excellent the holiday was - Thank you! The transportation from A to B went very smoothly with friendly, helpful taxi driver. The hotel was one of the best that we have stayed in. The food, service, cleanliness, bedrooms and whole ambience was superb - nothing too much trouble and all that one could wish for for a lovely holiday. The sun-shine was a big bonus!

Gozo was a beautiful, laid back Island, especially if you enjoy walking, as we do! At this time of year the wild flowers are beautiful. If possible we hope to book again for a similar time in 2012 - your client's should not be disappointed.
