Poovar Information

Poovar is small fishing village located on the winding Kerala backwaters and the River Neyyar, providing for some stunning and unique scenery. Approximately 10-miles south of Kovalam, Poovar is home to many hotels that are located on individual islands that have been formed naturally by the River. The area has developed in to an upmarket tourist resort without the masses and has retained the traditional Keralan ambiance. All of the ‘Island Hotels’ are easily accessible by speedboat.
