Dear Mercury Direct,

We have just returned home after spending twenty eight days at the Qawra Palace Hotel, Malta.

Before we went we wrote to you regarding our fears caused by some of the comments posted on the internet about the Hotel. Some very scathing indeed.

Our experience was that, even though the Hotel is old, it was kept exceptionally clean, the staff in the dinning areas, the reception and in the house keeping department were all efficient and friendly and helpful. The food was good, varied and plentiful, and the day time activates arranged by the Hotel and the entertainment put on at night was excellent and catered for all tastes and we certainly had no complaints at all.

The reason for this letter if that if the comments on the internet had had any substance, we would have certainly complained to you. So we felt in fairness we had to write and say how much we enjoyed our holiday at the Qawra Palace. Incidentally we have stayed two previous Januarys, with Mercury at the Agapinor, Cyprus and the Atlantico aparthotel near Albufeira both of which we have been more than happy with, but on balance taking everything in to account, we think the Qawra Palace hotel comes out on top. Also, thank you for your speedy and reassuring reply to our original letter.

Having just returned from a 10 day holiday to Mauritius, with 2 days in Dubai, with your company I felt I must write to let you know what a wonderful holiday we had.

Everything, from check in at Birmingham airport to our final check in, in Dubai went like clock work truly excellent.
Too often today people are ready to complain over trivial things, so I felt it was only right to let you know how pleased we were with your organisation – everybody from your people on the phone through to all your representatives, First class.

We have recently returned form a 10 day holiday at the Casuarina Hotel in Mauritius and would like to compliment you all for making it a truly lovely experience.

The booking procedure was efficient and the person who sorted our flights did a great job. We flew with Air Mauritius from Heathrow and the flight attendants were extremely helpful. The transfers to the hotel and greeting upon arrival started the relaxation properly. Please extend our sincere thanks to all at the Casuarina for all their cheerful help and attendance. We know that customers can be quick to criticise when they feel that a holiday has not lived up to their expectations.

Having recently returned from Sri Lanka and Oman after booking with you we feel compelled to write and tell you what a wonderful experience our whole holiday was. The representatives who met us at airports, the drivers and the hotel reps, could not have been more helpful, everyone was on time and went out of their way to make our holiday enjoyable.

In Sri Lanka we stayed at the Ramada which was a delightful and relaxing experience with excellent facilities and a wonderful staff. We spoke to many visitors who, like us, were new to Mercury Direct and all were having a most enjoyable time in a quality hotel with excellent facilities and very appetising food.

When we moved on to Oman the Crowne Plaza hotel was again excellent with Andreas the Gulf Venture rep, going out of his way to arrange the visits we requested on our short stay.

The Rydges Plaza used for our overnight break in Dubai was also a top quality hotel.

Dear Sirs,

Mr Lazarus and I returned from a two week holiday in Jardins d’Ajuda Hotel, Madeira last week. I am writing this note with our questionnaire because we had the most comfortable and enjoyable holiday we have ever had.

The hotel was excellent and on arrival we had been upgraded to a suite, which was excellent. The staff were so efficient and always smiling which costs nothing, but makes such a difference to clients. The dining room was run so professionally an the food excellent. You can see from the questionnaire form that everything was excellent. The position of the hotel was also very good, and for older clients the courtesy bus was excellent, although we could also walk in to Funchal very comfortably. We have been to Madeira a few times and like the island very much, but booking with Mercury certainly was a big plus for us and we commend your company of such excellent value for money. Flying with TAP was also excellent with plenty of leg room and once again a very attentive and smiling crew. The whole experience was so enjoyable and we cannot speak highly enough of your company on our return from this excellent holiday.

We have travelled to Malta with you in the past and I am sure we will travel elsewhere with you in the future, but did want you to know what an excellent holiday the Jardin d’Ajuda is, from the client point of view it has everything one could wish for, for old and young alike.

We have just returned fro our first holiday with “MERCURY” for our holiday to “SRI LANKA”.

We had never taken a “tour” prior to our fortnights holiday before and boy did it work for us and what a way to travel, in a private car, chauffer driven everywhere, and your very own personal guide (his name was “SUN HILL”!)

The hotels were definitely “hand picked”, they couldn’t be more pleasing to us and extremely friendly.

The Sigiriya Village Hotel – was pure luxury in a beautiful setting.
The Topary – had spectacular views over Kandy.
The Club Palm Garden – right on the beach.

“PERFECT” – what more could you ask for?

The trips were a little tiring, but on reflection – Wonderful!

Mercury Direct Will certainly feature in our upper most thoughts when contemplating a future holiday!

In February of this year a friend and I booked a weeks holiday on the island of Gozo, with Mercury Direct, having seen your advertisements in the travel section of the Telegraph.

I felt that I must now write to tell you what a wonderful holiday it turned out to be! We stayed at the Calypso Hotel in Marsalforn – a really excellent hotel – comfortable, clean with spacious and well furnished rooms. The food was delicious and the staff friendly and helpful. The travel arrangements were faultless – we were met and transported with great efficiency on each stage of our outward and homeward journeys. It couldn’t of been easier!

We loved the island of Gozo, and the sun shone all the time we were there!

I would happily recomment your company to anyone who is thinking of visiting Goz. Finally, I would like to say a big thank you to you and your staff at Mercury Direct for making our first visit to Gozo such a happy and memorable experience.

I would like to emphasise how very satisfied we were with our holiday. It was the first time we had booked through Mercury Direct and will certainly do so again.

The Casuarina was an excellent hotel and we could not fault it in any aspect. The staff and food were exceptional. This was a very friendly hotel which catered for everyone’s needs.

We met our relatives there from Australia to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday and it proved to be an excellent choice of venue.

We have experienced “fully inclusive” packages before and this was definitely our best!

This is to confirm my telephone conversation of a few days ago.

I was privileged to spend three weeks at the Venus Beach Hotel, Paphos, Cyprus, arranged by your good selves. I want you to know that I had the most enjoyable time of my rather long life so far!!

Your arrangements were spot on. The Venus Beach Hotel was simply great. My room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, and the view was superb, over looking the Tomb of the Kings and the Mediterranean.

The food was delicious, with plenty of choices for the most fussy palates, and what can I say about the staff? Everyone of them treated me as if I was the Queen, and i’m only a common garden welsh valley girl, a nobody!

Needless to say, I fully intend going back to the Venus Beach, hopefully for longer than three weeks in November or December.

What a great holiday, then to Dubai (The Marco Polo), we thought we couldn’t be bettered by another hotel but was proved wrong, the Marco Polo exceeded our expectations, magic staff lovely food, upgraded our room because of work being done on the pool and our own minibus to take us and pick us up from the beach… also special thanks to your rep at Dubai airport who had collected our luggage off the carousel and was waiting for us… I thought I just had to say THANK YOU for a holiday of a lifetime.
