The centre for tourism in North Cyprus, Kyrenia is renowned for its romantic setting and busy harbour. Despite its very traditional past, the town is now a fun destination for holidaymakers. Over the years many Britons have made their homes here, attracted by the Mediterranean lifestyle and pleasant climate. Apart from visits to the famous Kyrenia Castle and its impressive ramparts, many are happy to stroll around the town, enjoying a meal in one of its many restaurants or stop for a leisurely coffee or drink in a bar. Nearby is the village of Bellapais, with its abbey and fabulous views across the northern coastline.
