Arrived back on Tuesday night and wanted to say how much we enjoyed the holiday. Very good arrangements all the way there - and back. Thank you. Dear Mercury Direct, I am writing to thank Mercury Direct for the lovely holiday we had in Sri Lanka. My Husband and I stayed at the Ramada Resort in Kalutara, The Ramada resort was wonderful. You woke up each morning to well kept gardens palm trees and the Indian Ocean. All the Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful and couldn't do enough for you to make our stay welcoming. We were there for 25 days and honestly couldn't find any fault during our stay. The room was spotlessly clean and I would say one of the nicest we have stayed in, as we have travelled all over the world in many hotels. Each evening clean beach towels were brought to our room for the next day, and in the morning the man would get us a sun bed place our towels on it, nothing was too much trouble for him, and when he wasn't too busy he would stop and talk to you about England. We do hope you keep this holiday in your brochure, as we would thoroughly recommend the Ramada Resort.

We had to return to the UK at short notice and Tissa dealt with our issue promptly, courteously, sympathetically and in a professional manner. He managed to arrange flights back to the UK that night. I am writing to you to congratulate you on a great holiday that we enjoyed in Sri Lanka this Year. We travelled from the 5th to 28th February having first done the Cultural tour for 8 days followed by 14 nights spent at The Sands Kalutara. Two friends came with us and we all agree that this is one of the best holidays we have ever had. Our flights with Qatar airways were superb and then on arrival in Colombo we were met by Jaya, from Aitken Spence and a great 8 days followed. He was a great guide of gave us a lot of information and went the extra mile for us. He drove in some terrible conditions with flooding due to heavy rains. We had elephants fighting on the road that we needed to travel along, delaying us for half an hour and at times we were slow whilst views some of the attractions but he never complained! Hes was good humoured and so tolerant and we so enjoyed his company. The Sands hotel was of excellent standard. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The rooms were large and comfortable. The laundry service was comprehensive and great value for money and the food was varied and superb. We had no complaints at all except that there were no enough lounges in the gardens for the guests that needed them. It is somewhere that we would consider returning to one day and we would use Mercury Direct again. Whilst at the coast we went to Marissa on a Whale watching trip organised by your company. Our guide was called Jit and he was also a superb guide. He put in a very long day and made it very special for us. There were only four of us throughout the three weeks so we felt very spoiled. It is beautiful island and the hotel were all so well chosen. The Sigiriya Village hotel, The Mahaweli beach hotel and the Tea Heritage hotel were all hotels we that we would have happily have spent more time in. Our memories will last forever. Well done on your superb planning and excellent value for money, your choices of guides and the best flights and hotel. Thank you! We have recommended your company to many of our friends so long may you continue.

I have travelled with other airlines but Qatar is the best. As you know I am disabled and needed airport assistance; Qatar made everything so easy for me ! . As to the hotel it was one of the best I have ever stayed in the staff, food and rooms was top class! the ambeance of the Hotel was first class + I was given every assistance by the staff at all times including cooking meals for my special diet ! The room boys kept the rooms spotless with fresh bed linen every day and towels twice a day. I stayed from 1/06/08 to 22/06/08 , I would recommend this Hotel and Mercury to my friends !.
