Add a 2 night wildlife safari Itinerary:

(all travel in an air-conditioned vehicle with an English speaking driver/guide)

Day 1: Pick up from your beach holiday hotel and during the morning drive along Sri Lanka's south coast to Kataragama. Check in at the Mandra Rosen Hotel. During the afternoon join a jeep safari to the Yala National Game Park, the largest wild animal reserve on the island and home to leopard, bear, elephant, wild boar, buffalo, deer and crocodile. It also hosts many migratory and indigenous birds. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 2: After breakfast check out of hotel and proceed along the coast to Galle, passing the island’s stilt fisherman on the way. Historic Galle has a 17th century Dutch fort and is famous for lacemaking and carved ebony. Proceed on a river safari and see a variety of marine life. Later visit a turtle hatchery before driving on to Colombo to the Taj Samudra/Ceylon Continental or similar for an overnight stay with dinner.

Day 3: Check-out after breakfast. Departure transfer to airport for the onward flight. Please note: Yala Game Park is closed for 30 days during September and October. During this period the safari will be to Udawalawe Game Park about 50 miles west with appropriate accommodation.
