Dear Mr Bugeja,

I am writing to thank you for yet again providing an excellent product. You will see from my attached booking form (for your reference) that we travelled from Gatwick to Bangkok, Phuket and Dubai with Mercury Direct. Every step of the way was seamless and we experienced exceptionally good service and assistance from all of the Mercury reps we encountered along our travels. The telephone rep who we made the booking with was very helpful although she did omit to inform us that by flying with Ermirates business class we were entitled to airport transfers. This however was rectified when I accessed the Emirate web site to reserve our seats and found the information myself - and when confirming with your rep, she was very apologetic. - so no real problem. The transfers from all three airports, both to and from our destinations was expertly done and I have a special mention for three of the reps in particular.

1. On departing from Phuket the rep who met us at the airport was especially helpful. She helped unload our luggage, found a trolley and took our baggage from us - insisting on pushing it herself. She stayed with us in the check in queue and dealt with all of our queries with the check in staff. She stayed with us as far as she was allowed to go within the airport - was very friendly and super efficient.

2. On our arrival at Dubai, we met the usual chaos peculiar to that airport. You are probably aware that the airport is heaving with people at all times, but especially so during the night hours. We checked in at the Emirates chauffeur service and stood in an extremely long queue for almost an hour and a half waiting for our car. There were dozens of people in front of us also waiting - the service was slow and chaotic to say the least - and extremely noisy. Whilst we were waiting, a Mercury rep approached us. He had been waiting at the other end of the airport for us - by the usual exit doors. When we didn't appear to him, he took the time to hunt for us - finding us still in the Emirates queue. We were very grateful for his assistance. He took our luggage trolley and whizzed us through the airport to the waiting car. I think we may still be standing at the Emirates desk had he not shown up to help us - even tho we had assumed that his services had been cancelled due to the fact that we were using the Emirates service. Mercury certainly proved to be more efficient than Emirates in this case.

3. Mr Salem, in Dubai was also very helpful. Unfortunately I left a very expensive pair of prescription glasses on the back seat of a taxi. I telephoned Mr Salem who was informative and also phoned around all the taxi companies to ask if they had been handed in. Unfortunately not, but grateful for his assistance and advice.

We enjoyed our stay in all of the hotels - and were especially pleased that our requests for smoking and lower level rooms were adhered to. We had a particularly good room at the Andaman Hotel, Phuket, with the pool directly accessed from our patio - and the envy of other British holidaymakers that we met there. Also found Bangkok Airways to be especially good and a surprise to us. There is a designated entry into the airport and what is very similar to a business class lounge for BKA customers only - offering a little peace in a busy airport and complimentary food, drinks and computer/internet facilities. The flights were also excellent - comfortable seats, lots of leg room, and surprisingly for such a short flight - a complimentary meal and refreshments. I would just mention that by applying for a Skywards Membership card, which is free, with Bangkok Airways, customers are allocated an extra 10 kgs baggage allowance. I found this information from the internet and found it extremely useful as our baggage allowance with Emirates business class was also 30kg. This may be something you could inform other Mercury customers about - it was certainly very useful for us.

I would also like to take this opportunity of saying how refreshing it was to meet your reps and not have the obligatory tours foisted upon us. Whilst we did take up tours in Bangkok and Dubai, we were never pressured, or bored to death with long meetings or hard sales pitch. We used Mercury Direct last year to holiday in Mauritius and Dubai, and after our recommendations, our daughter and son-in-law booked the same holiday through your company. They went this March, 2008, and they also are very impressed with your services.

I have a memory of using your company three times now - tho cannot remember the first trip we took with you. We will certainly recommend your company to our friends and look forward to travelling with you again - though unfortunately, do find that you have limited destinations on offer. Hopefully, you will be extending the list of products in the future. I trust you haven't found this too tedious to read - a rather long letter - but thought you might like to know the opinions of your satisfied customers.
